Surgeon messes up penis op

A Romanian surgeon has been suspended after allegedly cutting a patient's penis into several pieces.

He was supposed to be operating on the man to lower a testicle into his scrotum when he accidentally cut the urinary channel.

It's reported the surgeon then lost his temper and cut the man's penis into several pieces.

The surgeon, based at a Bucharest hospital, has been suspended for six months and faces further investigations.

Another team of doctors operated on the 34-year-old patient to try to save his urinary function.

One surgeon who was called back from holiday told the Evenimentul Zilei newspaper: "I couldn't try to rebuild the man's penis because there had been more than 48 hours since the incident and it was too late.

"Even if I had the parts of the organ we couldn't do it at that moment."

The doctor said he will try to reconstruct the patient's penis in a few months.

The patient is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

I just got this very handy "thing" for Gmail over the Orkut.

I know you said you didn't want to email yourself, but here are some suggestions to make it much easier:

-Create a Contact with a Name of "Notes" and an Email Address of "username+Notes@gmail.com"
-Create a new Label called "Notes"
-Create a Filter to add the "Notes" Label any email addressed to "username+Notes@gmail.com". Also, check the "Skip the Inbox (Archive it)" checkbox.

The effect is this:
-When you email yourself from ANOTHER account, the message will automatically be archived into your "Notes" Label view, bypassing the Inbox.

-When you want to email yourself from your Gmail account, click "Compose Email", and just type "Notes" in the "To" field and hit Enter. Because you used the name "Notes" as the Contact, it will fill in automatically eliminating the need to enter a long address. When you click send, it gets sent to yourself, and auto-archived in the Notes Label.

New rules on pizza to be introduced

Italian officials want new rules on how big a pizza should be and how hot it's cooked, before being allowed to use the name.

Department of Agriculture officials say they want to clamp down on so-called "pizza pirates".

In order to be labelled a pizza, it must be three millimetres thick in the middle, have a one to two centimetre thick crust and have been cooked at 450 degrees centigrade.

The diameter should not exceed 35 centimetres.

The ministry says the rule is part of a one million pound PR exercise and say they have signed up inspectors to check kitchens.

The Italians will also investigate what action can be taken under trading standards laws in different countries against restaurants serving food from the homeland it regards as not being up to scratch.

Italy's soccer squad can have sex with their wives or girlfriends during the Euro 2004 finals - but only for one hour in the evenings.

But if they reach the quarter-finals, partners will be allowed to visit for a whole day, said coach Giovanni Trapattoni.

The players were told that during the tournament's group stages, they could have their loved ones visit their hotel rooms, but for just sixty minutes in the evening, reports the tgcom website.

Michelangelo's David has had his first bath in 130 years - just in time for his 500th birthday.

The famous statue was unveiled in Florence's Accademia yesterday, after a cleaning process which had left its restorer emotionally exhausted.

It is the first recorded cleaning of the statue since it was moved to the gallery from a Florentine piazza 130 years ago.

But the experience - and the controversy surrounding the cleaning - was so overwhelming for restorer Cinzia Parnigoni that she broke down in tears.

She had taken over the job after a previous restorer resigned, complaining that a new 'wet cleaning' technique that she said was being forced on her would harm the statue.

"I had no doubts or second thoughts about the technique I was using, but I did when it came to trying to measure up to Michelangelo," Ms Parnigoni told the Daily Telegraph.

Michelangelo sculpted the statue between 1502 and 1504.

Around 100 students from 15 universities have stripped off to create a new world record for the most naked people on a rollercoaster.

They rode the terrifying 360-degree Nemesis Inferno rollercoaster at Thorpe Park, in Surrey, earlier today.

The record attempt has helped raise cash for good causes as the park is promising to pay £1,000 to a university Rag committee for the best group photograph on board the ride.

Staff at Thorpe hit on the idea for a birthday-suit record bid to mark the park's own 25th birthday, says Sky News Online.

Wearing only safety harnesses, the intrepid participants experienced gravity at up 4.5 times its normal strength as they flew around the 750-metre course.

You might heard that gmail offer 1 gigabyte email storage, but what about 1 terabyte just like shown at my mailbox screenshot up there (edited of course).

But even it reported as a bug and already back to 1 gigabyte to some users, mine still show the 1000000 MB while I post this message. Just hope it will keep that way, even I don't have any idea if my mails can reach 1 terabyte.

Mobile phone users in the UK sent a whopping 2.1bn text messages in March this year, or an average of 69m texts per day.

The Mobile Data Association (MDA) points out that March's figures are over 80m higher than February's. Call us abacus-rattlers if you will, but we suspect that March being two days longer than February this year may have had something to do with it.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. contractor and her husband have been fired after her photograph of 20 flag- draped coffins of American troops going home from Iraq was published in violation of military rules.

"I lost my job and they let my husband go as well," Tami Silicio, who loaded U.S. military cargo at Kuwait International Airport for a U.S. company, told Reuters in an e-mail response to questions.

The Pentagon tightly restricts publication of photographs of coffins with the remains of U.S. troops and has forbidden journalists from taking pictures at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the first stop for the bodies of troops being sent home.

one month ago, we began an attempt to make contact with microsoft, we did this because the first software only mod-chip solution was developed and proved working. this solution meant that there was no need to open the xbox anymore.

the modification only needs to be installed once and all existing xbox consoles are able to be modified to use this exploit, only new consoles with an updated firmware could lock out this exploit.
_>- we told you earlier this week about a group of "xbox researchers" who had discovered a way to make the xbox boot the linux operating system without a mod chip, then had gone on to blackmail microsoft, stating they would publicize the exploit if microsoft didn't approve an official system for running xbox linux. surprise! microsoft didn't approve an xbox linux system, and the hackers have released the details of the exploit.
after discovering this exploit a team was formed known as the "free-x (box)" team.

members of this team have made many attempts to initiate discussions with microsoft by various means including:

1. contacting certified xbox game developers requesting that they contact microsoft to facilitate discussions about our discoveries.
2. contacting major web-based news sources requesting that they contact microsoft on our behalf.
3. direct contact with various microsoft departments globally.
4. direct contact with authorised xbox distributors globally.

since our attempts to contact microsoft have become public knowledge our team has been accused of attempting to extort or blackmail microsoft, this is not true as we have made every attempt possible to make contact with microsoft to offer the following:

- a complete summary of all hacking technologies (many of these technologies have not been released).
- source codes.
- all attacks which have been developed but not yet released.
- to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding our discoveries.
- further research on exploits, which would be exclusive to microsoft.
- full names of all hackers involved upon agreement of legal protection from microsoft.
- assistance in the development of future security for the xbox by working with microsoft.

for the exchange, we were requesting but not demanding the following:

- complete access to all documentation (chipsets, video etc.) to assist in developing a better linux for the xbox.
- a signed linux loader.
- protection from microsoft or support if any organisation/ government attempted to prosecute members of our team.
- refunding of the cost occured during the agreement period.

to prove our discoveries we offered to make available an exploited dashboard for microsoft to validate our claims.

our team was more than willing to co-operate with microsoft and would have most likely accepted most of the terms of agreement coming from our discussions.

if microsoft had agreed to sign linux then it would have been possible to generate a signature for the linux, which would only work on current xbox consoles and able to be stopped in future revisions. it would also be possible to prevent the illegal use of pirated software.

our team was of the belief that our attempts to initiate discussions with microsoft would have been welcomed.

members of our team contacted microsoft quickly, but then suddenly microsoft ceased responding to our enquiries. third parties contacting microsoft on our behalf also proved to lead to a dead end, is the giant microsoft's reaction just incompetence or intentional??

following the public release of this request for communication on the zdnet/cnet network, microsoft promised a formal response and as yet we have not seen one.

is it possible that microsoft's lack of co-operation in this matter could be because they believe that:

1. mod-chips are good for business as they increase the sales of the console hardware and that they see them as an important part of there business model.
2. the exploit can be fixed in future software updates.
3. this is purely a hoax.

a team member called a microsoft representative again (mr. thomas kritsch of austria) and offered a presentation.

this presentation was scheduled for 20th june, but microsoft cancelled it on 19th june. during a phone discussion on this day mr kritsch asked many questions.

everything was explained to mr kritsch including our proposed release schedule, at this time mr kritsch insinuated that members of the electronic arts programming team were "stupid" for allowing an exploit such as the habibi 007 trick to be found.

mr kritsch was contacted by email and advised that we would release a modified habibi exploit for microsoft's own mechassualt game on 23rd june which allowed plenty of time for microsoft to request that we not release the exploit but no communications from microsoft was received.

many further attempts have been made since this time begin discussions with microsoft.

we believe that microsoft sees hackers as a perfect instrument for increasing the sales of the xbox. how else can their reaction to this issue be interpreted?

the software companies who are developing titles for the xbox should be very worried by the lack of protection that microsoft is offering their work as exploits such as those found by our team pose a serious threat to potential sales due to the possible use of such exploits for software piracy.

many people have speculated as to who the representatives of our group are, microsoft and zdnet are fully aware of the identities of those people who are authorized to speak on our behalf.

our team has no connection to the xecutor, evox or xodus teams who make millions of dollars thru their illegal activities and still manage to avoid any sort of legal prosecution from microsoft. this doesn't seem all that strange in light of microsoft's reaction to the potential illegal uses of the exploits that we have discovered.

our team has no relationship with the xbox linux project who share the same goals as our team which is to provide a great linux solution for the xbox.

we have made every possible attempt to achieve our goal of running linux on the xbox easier without the risks of encouraging software piracy, it is a shame that microsoft appears to not share our concerns about protecting the intellectual rights of those who develop software for their console.
